Noel has established a solid reputation as a live performer and entertains on average, four to five nights each week. Organisers of the Hands of Fame ceremony in Tamworth recognised Noel's contribution to country music in 1985, inviting him to place his hands in concrete in the Australasian Country Music Capital. "It's funny, you know," Noel said. "Australia recognised me long before New Zealand ever thought to. I wasn't inducted into the Gore (NZ) Hands of Fame until 1997."
