Noel Parlane
EXPATRIATE New Zealander Noel Parlane has been in Tamworth recording, and has completed his first album this side of the Tasman. Noel's no stranger to the recording studio, having recorded back in New Zealand in the late 1970s. It was after his initial success at the Gore Gold Guitar Awards in 1977 and then again in 1979 that he won a contract with Music World Records and Noel's country career was launched in style. Noel recorded five or six albums with Music World and in
1984 secured a record deal with BMG/RCA, making three albums with that company. Organisers of the Hands of Fame ceremony in Tamworth recognised Noel's contribution to country music in 1985, inviting him to place his hands in concrete in the Australasian Country Music Capital. "It's funny, you know," Noel said. "Australia recognised me long before New Zealand ever thought to. I wasn't inducted into the Gore (NZ) Hands of Fame until 1997."
In 1995, Noel took the independent road and produced his own CD, Can I Count On You, which is still being distributed on Lindsay Butler's LBS Music label. Noel met the Butlers - Lindsay and wife Shaza Leigh - around 1990 in New Zealand, and although they talked about doing a recording oneday, it didn't happen until June 2005. "It's all about timing," Noel said. "This was the perfect time for me to do record here in Tamworth." Noel and his family moved from Dunedin New Zealand to Brisbane in 2000, and although he'd had a two-year stint in Australia two years previously, this time it's a permanent move. Noel has established a solid reputation in the South-east Queensland region, and entertains on average, four to five nights each week.
This new LBS album “ No Limits” is sure to be a crowd-pleaser and Noel is pretty excited about the new release. "It's a feeling album. We've chosen material that is lyrically appealing, with a happy, positive message in the songs that should cater to an international market," Noel said. "A lot of the songs are either my personal favourites, or frequently requested songs people ask for at gigs." Tracks such as I'm Not Through Loving You, Fly Like A Bird and Cottage In The Country are just a small sample of what's in store for the new Noel Parlane CD, If Heartaches Meant Gold was released as a single and has been received very well though out Australia and soon New Zealand. We hope that you will enjoy this album as much as did recording this new CD, proudly made in Tamworth Australia at LBS Studios..
